Haunted Hotels

Two of Market Harborough’s surviving Coaching Inns, situated on the town’s High Street, are both believed to be haunted. The Three Swans Hotel dates back to the 16th Century and The Angel Hotel, the 18th Century.

These two magnificent hotels played an important role in the town’s history, acting as court rooms, venues for town meetings, stop-off points for mail coaches to and from London and even for the billeting of soldiers on the way to France during the Napoleonic war. Members of Staff have recounted various tales of unexplained occurances that they have experienced whilst carrying out their duties and guests have also had their share of ghostly ‘goings-on’.

Both hotels were investigated during the making of the DVD documentary, uncovering some surprising stories from frightened witnesses, including an incident of a malevolent entity trying to strangle it’s victim!
