The Manor House at the top of the town was once the headquarters of the crisp manufacturer 
'Golden Wonder' and staff there had some strange encounters with the paranormal - doors 
opening by themselves, taps being turned on, bumps and bangs and eerie voices permeated the building.

Most of the activity was experienced by the nightwatchman there. One night, a padlocked storeroom 
door began to shake violently almost like 'an elephant was trying to break through'. Another incident 
involved the apparition of a young girl dressed in a long robe who seemed to be 'rooted to the spot'
before she disappeared. Several employees felt'something' brush past them in the corridors followed
by a door slamming shut, accompanied by the sound of footsteps.

This story is not featured in the dvd documentary but will appear in the forthcoming book.
